CLOSING BLOG:

(PLAY VIDEO WHILST READING AND LOOKING AT THE PICS FOR ADDITIONAL DRAMATICS)

We've gone from being little kiplings to the knowledgable media students we are today! It's been an exciting, stressful, emotional journey and it has finally come to an end. It's been AMAZING to have an AMAZING group to work with.

Hope you felt like you rode the journey with us.

HUGE thankyou to Louisa and Rebecca for putting up with us and the drama that comes with (and my late night panicky emails) and just guiding us through the process. They have the patience of saints. IT'S BEEN EMOSH.

Q3: How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?

I created a catologue on publisher to present the technology I used during the course.

Q2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Visuak links in terms of choice of colour in video, digipak and music video. The green and pink background in the music video was used at the beginning and in the graffiti background you can see hints of pink and green coming through. Also in the costume the colours are repeated in the video. This was then translated into the digipak and advert. Also you can see the adrogenous look with the suits being repeated. And the funny faces correlate with the digipak too.

Q1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge the conventions of real media products

ALL PRODUCTION WORK COMPLETE!

That time has come! And it feels amazing! I can barely contain my excitement! It has been a fun learning experience but I most certainly can not hide the relief I feel now that the production of both the music video and the ancillary products are complete. Having consumed 96% of my life, it is nice to eventually see the end product and feel a sense of pride for my work. I have learnt so much over the past 5 months, my head could explode. But the creative journey isn't quite over yet as I have now got to prepare myself to plan for the Evaluation. So in the true media spirit, all i can say is BRING IT ON!

ANCILLARY WORK: Pic for advert background

I might use this photo as the background image for my advert. It goes with the theme of the video and would help to convey a visual link between the two products

ANCILLARY WORK: photoshoot for inside digipak

Whilst I was waiting for Naomi to arrive, I decided to start my photoshoot for the inside of the panel. Here are a few of the shots we tried out.

ANCILLARY WORK: production

I have completed the back side to my digipak and am now currently constructing the front cover. This is probably the hardest and most important as it will be the first thing that the consumer will see and needs to be right. I have been using photoshop to create the digipak. I think my timing has been okay so far but I will need to get a move on fast if I am to complete another 4 panels in time for the deadline. Wish me luck!

MUSIC VIDEO DEBUT: screen on the green

BEFORE: Today's the day! After many early mornings and late nights, we've finally reached the point where we prove it was all worth it and show it to the rest of the A2. Nervous. Excited. Proud. And hoping that we did enough to make it appeal to our audience and follow the conventions!

AFTER: Well that went well! Our video was well received and from the audience feedback, seemed to appeal to their expectations of a pop video. Relieved. Still Excited. Tired. And acknowledging that the time and effort was worth it.

ANCILLARY WORK: Digi example

This is the first real hard copy example of a digipak that I have looked at. The placement on the inside is interesting and maintains the colour scheme and theme throughout. The promotional sticker on the front makes it look even more professional (because it is) so I might consider creating a promotional sticker of my own to include on my digipak.

ANCILLARY WORK: Mock Up of Digipak and Advert

This is the mock up of my Digipak and advert. I want to create a 6 panel Digipak and on the third panel, I'm going to put photo booth style pictures all over it.
I'm not going to include pictures on the back of the digi anymore as I feel it will be better to keep it simple.
