For my summer music video remake my group chose to do Rizzle Kicks - Down With the Trumpets. Due to this I felt that it would be best that I analyse the full student video for this same song. As the there was already an original video by the artists for the song, it may have proven itself difficult to remake the video but the group pulled it off making there own video completely different and unique.
They followed Goodwins theory very well as amplification was used throughout their video, which was made possbile through the good on screen chemisty by the perfomers.
There was definatley good use of mise en scene as there was good use of props, (i.e. the trumpets to match the song) the costumes matched the song genre and the locations gave a sense of and urban theme.
The editing in the video was also very good as there was reptition of fast paced cuts for the hook of the song reading the words 'down with the trumpets' in time with the song. The students aslo had good manipultaion of time by speeding up and slowing down clips to enhance for effect. My favourite edit has to be at the end of the video where the the shots of the two perfomers freezes then zooms out to show them wacthing back their footage on a screen in a studio.
