Estelle Fanta Swaray is a British R&B singer / rapper who was born on the 18th January 1980 and was raised in Hammersmith , West London, which inspired her debut single '1980' in 2004 . As a girl she listened to her parents reggage and gospel music which inspired her to go into the music industry.
Estelle caught her big break in the early 2000's where she met Kanye West which lead her to John Legend who produce some of her songson her album.
Estelle acheived worldwide success with her 2008 hit single 'American Boy' featuring Kanye West which went 2x platinum in the United States and won her her first grammy which turned Estelle into a household name .
