The Music Industry Then and Now

The Music industry has changed in many different ways from they way we consume their products and they way the industry advertises their artists. However it seems like the Big conglomerates are loosing some money because of the new trends and platforms that consumers are using which has allowed artists a higher amount of creative control.

Main Changes:

Artist have More Control over their Music and videos because they are what consumers are buying, which the labels used to control.

With the Introduction of the internet, most music are now being advertised online by using platforms like Youtube and muzu, where as before it was promoted on the radio and tv shows.

The Biggest difference come from the way we consume the music like the Sales of Cds has gone down while online purchases (mp3) legally (Itunes) and illegally (torrents) has gone up. Also now music can be streamed online free, which makes the process of buying the single or album redundant.
