Carol Vernalis

Carol Vernallis studied music videos to find out how they differed from other Videos in media. She found out that Edits In music Videos was used in an extremely different manner than that of a film, as music Videos Seemed to use More Edits which came in quick succession one after another like Jump Cuts and Special effects like Picture tints and swipes . She also noticed that many Music Videos had elements of disjuncture that made it stand out, as the editing used was in time with the music.

Carol also found out that the traditional rules of continuity was purposely being broken to make the music video stand out which kept the viewers interested and made it more memorable. She Also found out that Edits like Jump cuts and special effects was used to draw attention from the viewers to themselves (music Video). Another Aspect of a music video Vernalis found about was the frequent use of base track (The whole song shot in every position. in all music videos which made the Editing process easier.
